Sony WH-1000XM5
Sony's previous flagship over-ear headphones do not join Auracast broadcasts. For Auracast, get the WH-1000XM6 instead.
Auracast status
Often sold alongside Auracast gear, but does not do Auracast. Listed so you do not buy it by mistake. Sony's October 2025 Auracast update covered the WH-1000XM6 headphones and WF-1000XM5 earbuds only. The WH-1000XM5's firmware notes up to version 2.5.1 (December 2025) list no Auracast feature, and it is not on the Bluetooth SIG Auracast listing. Easily confused with the WF-1000XM5 earbuds, which do have it.
