How we test
A status on this site is a claim we are prepared to be wrong about in public. Here is what each one takes.
Statuses
| Status | What it takes |
|---|---|
| Works today | The manufacturer documents it, or the Bluetooth SIG lists the product in that role, or we or a credible outlet have joined a broadcast with it. The source is on the product page. |
| Works with limits | It works, with a condition a buyer must know: Android only, one phone brand only, same-brand devices only, beta firmware. |
| Firmware pending | The hardware is there and the maker has promised an update. We record the date promised and the date delivered. |
| Announced only | Pre-order or announced, not in customers' hands. |
| No Auracast | Often sold next to Auracast gear and does not have it. Listed so nobody buys it by mistake. No buy link. |
Reviews
A hands-on review joins at least one open venue broadcast and one private one, measures latency against a wired reference, notes range in a real room, and records the exact firmware and app versions. We say whether the unit was bought, borrowed or gifted.
What we do not claim
We do not make clinical claims about hearing aids and we do not rate sound quality beyond what a broadcast codec allows. Where sources conflict (two latency figures, two prices), the product page says so rather than picking one.
