Does my phone support Auracast? Samsung, Pixel, iPhone, Windows and Mac, checked
Which phones can find and join a broadcast, which can send one, which are left out, and the exact menu to open on each. Updated as firmware lands.

Two separate questions hide inside this one. Can the phone find and join a broadcast on behalf of your earbuds or hearing aids (the assistant role)? And can the phone send a broadcast of its own music or microphone (the source role)? Here is where every platform stands in October 2026.
| Platform | Finds and joins | Sends a broadcast | QR-code join | Menu name | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Samsung Galaxy S23 and newer | Yes | Yes | Yes | Audio broadcast (was Auracast) | | Samsung Galaxy A54, A55 | Yes | No | Yes | Audio broadcast | | Google Pixel 8, 9, 10 series | Yes | Yes | Yes | Audio sharing | | Google Pixel 8a, 9a | No | No | No | Not offered | | Sony Xperia 1 IV and newer | Yes | Yes | Yes | Audio sharing | | Xiaomi 14, 15; POCO X6 Pro, F-series | Yes | Yes | Varies | Audio sharing | | Other Android 16 phones | Depends on the maker | Depends | Depends | Audio sharing, if present | | iPhone, iPad | No | No | No | Nothing | | Mac | No | No | No | Nothing | | Windows 11 Copilot+ PC | No | Two paired headsets only | No | Shared audio |
Samsung
The widest support of any phone maker. Transmitting arrived in One UI 6.1 in February 2024 and finding broadcasts a little earlier. One UI 8.5, which shipped on the Galaxy S26 in March 2026, renamed the feature Audio broadcast, added a QR code for your own broadcasts, a voice mode that sends the phone's microphone, and a password option.
Galaxy S23, S24, S25 and S26 families, Z Fold5 and Flip5 onward, Tab S8 onward and the Galaxy Book3 and newer laptops all have it. The A54 and A55 can join but not send.
To join: Settings, Connections, Bluetooth, Audio broadcast, Listen. Turn on "Allow hearing aids to connect" if that is what you are joining with.
Google Pixel
Audio sharing arrived with Android 16 QPR1 in September 2025 on the Pixel 8, 8 Pro, the 9 series and the 10 series. The Pixel 8a and 9a were left out; Google has said their radios do not support it. The Pixel 10a does.
To join: Settings, Connected devices, Audio sharing, Find an audio stream. Android 17 renames that last step Nearby audio streams. Pointing the camera at a venue's QR code also works.
Voice broadcast, which sends the phone's microphone, is in Android 17 QPR2 beta as of October 2026 and has no stable date.
One caution: Google's own Pixel Buds Pro 2 were disabled as a receiver when paired to Pixel phones in mid-2025, and the Pixel Buds 2a have no Auracast at all. The product page has the detail.
Sony, Xiaomi and the rest of Android
Sony's Xperia 1 IV through 1 VIII and the 5 IV and 5 V broadcast, scan and join by QR code. Xiaomi's 14 and 15 series, the Mix Flip and Fold, and POCO's X6 Pro and F-series do too, with region-dependent menus.
For any other phone on Android 16 or newer, the feature exists in the operating system but needs an LE Audio radio and the maker's say-so. Look in Bluetooth settings for Audio sharing. If it is not there, the phone cannot do it.
iPhone, iPad and Mac
Nothing. iOS 26 and iOS 27 have no LE Audio and no Auracast. The iPhone 17 has a Bluetooth 6 radio; the iPhone 18, launched in September 2026, still exposes none of it. Apple's accessibility announcements in May 2026 and WWDC in June both passed without a mention. AirPods' audio sharing and the AirPods Pro hearing-aid mode are Apple features, not Auracast.
Three workarounds exist:
- Hearing-aid apps. ReSound, Jabra, Beltone, Oticon, Philips, Starkey, Bernafon and Phonak all build an assistant into their iPhone app, so their aids join broadcasts from an iPhone. Phonak's app joins by QR code only. Widex and Signia have no iPhone path yet.
- A third-party assistant app. HearAura, released in October 2026, finds broadcasts and hands them to hearing aids on an iPhone.
- A dongle. The Avantree Aura C plugs into the USB-C port and does the assistant's job for MFi, ASHA or Bluetooth hearing aids. It is on pre-order.
None of these help with ordinary earbuds, which have no app of their own.
Windows 11
Windows has had LE Audio since 22H2, and in mid-2026 Microsoft shipped Shared audio on Copilot+ PCs: it uses the broadcast mechanism to feed two paired headsets at once. It is not an open Auracast broadcast, nobody else can join it, and Windows cannot scan for or join a broadcast from elsewhere. Microsoft has said full Auracast is on the roadmap.
For a real broadcast from a PC, a USB dongle does it today.
ChromeOS
LE Audio for pairing only. No broadcast feature has appeared.
Still unsure?
The compatibility checker combines this table with the receiver database and tells you the menu to open for your exact pair.

Mentioned in this story
Finds a broadcast, joins by QR code, and shares its own audio.
The only major platform with no Auracast at all, as of October 2026.
Close, but not Auracast. Plug in a dongle such as the Creative BT-W6 for the real thing.
